Mount Vesuvius

When the Romans discovered the area, they called the mountain Vesuvinum, because of good quality of wine that they could produce on the top of the mountain. Today volcano dominates the Gulf of Naples, and it's also a panoramic site – you can see Sorrento peninsula, Capri island and Amalfi Coast. You can visit Vesuvius by car or bus up to 1000 metres, then we're inviting you for a walk about 200 metres to the top where you will see the crater. Our guide, ready to answer any questions, will accompany you to the top.
